Customs Clearance Guide for Imported and Exported Food Additives
Import Declaration
A trade contract specifying the product's intended use (for food processing), or a declaration of use (for food processing) issued by both parties in the trade contract; a complete ingredient list for the food additive; if the importer is a trading company, a copy of the business license or operating permit stamped with the importer's official seal; if the importer is a food manufacturer, a copy of the food production license stamped with the importer's official seal.
Under special circumstances, enterprises must also provide the following materials: For items requiring entry quarantine approval, provide an Animal and Plant Quarantine Permit for Entry. For newly imported food additive varieties, provide relevant import approval documents from the State Council health administration department, along with approved or recognized product quality standards and inspection method standards. For first-time imports of food additives, provide Chinese label samples and instructions for the imported food additives, which must be reviewed and approved by the inspection and quarantine authority prior to inspection declaration. If imported food additives are entirely processed for subsequent re-export, provide relevant standards or technical requirements from the importing country or region, or specify product quality and safety items and indicator requirements in the contract. Export Declaration
A trade contract specifying the product's intended use (for food processing), or a declaration of use (for food processing) issued by both parties in the trade contract;
The original product inspection certificate of conformity, which must list the applicable standards, including their names and codes;
If the exporting enterprise is a business entity, a copy of its business license or operating permit;
Label samples and instruction manual samples for food additives;
Other materials required by customs.
