Customs clearance process for prepackaged food
The following is the detailed process of customs clearance for prepackaged food:
1. Enterprise qualifications for the record: the importer first needs to have the right to import and export business, and in the Customs for the record. According to the “Customs declaration unit registration regulations”, the enterprise needs to submit to the local customs business license, foreign trade operators record registration form and other materials to complete the registration of customs declaration unit 3.
2. Product access audit: Not all foreign prepackaged food can be freely imported. Importers need to confirm whether the target product is within the “Imported Food Access List” 3.
3. Registration of foreign producers: According to the regulations, foreign producers exporting food products to China need to be recommended by the official authorities of the country where they are located and registered in China3 .
4. Chinese labeling design: prepackaged food must be labeled with Chinese labels that comply with national standards, including: name of the food, list of ingredients, net content, date of production, shelf life, country of origin, agent information and so on. 5.
