Coffee Bean Import Process
The coffee bean import process can be broadly divided into the following steps: eligibility inquiry, contract signing, filing, shipment, document review, arrival at port, customs declaration, tax payment, inspection and quarantine, and release for pickup.
Import considerations for coffee beans:
Raw coffee beans require phytosanitary certificates, field certificates, health certificates, and other documents, which must be provided by the foreign supplier.
Raw coffee beans must be imported by overseas shippers and coffee plantations that are registered and filed in China. Companies without registration cannot import.
Coffee beans fall under Category 18 food products, and registration and filing for such products in China must be recommended by the overseas authorities.
